CULTIVATOR: Bright Valley Cannabis

STRAIN: Motor City

BREEDER: Cookies

GENETICS: Motorbreath #15 x Runtz

THC: 29.86%

TAC: 35.11%

TERPS: limonene, myrcene, B-caryophyllene, linalool

The Bright Valley team is a lifelong advocate for high-quality cannabis, from the “old days” in Vermont to California’s Emerald Triangle to Maine and back to Vermont. Motor City is a hybrid cannabis strain bred by Cookies. We were pleasantly surprised by the bright sour aromas wafting over our senses with the twist open of the jar. The flower appeared tightly trimmed, including some of the trichomes.

The beautiful, thick, fuzzy orange hairs look animated under a scope, showing off the nice bulbous intact trichomes, plentiful in clusters! The moisture content and cure were perfect, leaving that squishy feel in the fingers and fluff on the grind.

With the recent Vermont weather and rain, moisture content is hard to judge. Bright Valley’s Motor City presented an easy and smooth roll as we prepped for the toke. The gassy diesel and sweet buttery taste lingered nicely on the dry pull. Lighting up furthered the sweet and gassy profile, hit after hit. Smooth on the draw, with a tickle in your nose and throat, it provided a creative and happy high, phasing into a deep body relaxation for much-needed pain relief at the end of the day. As the warmth and tingle moved through our bodies, we felt lighter and uplifted! It’s the perfect puff to catch up with an old friend, socialize with your crew, debate politics with anyone who will listen, and passionately advocate and dream about this wonderful plant that led us to this wonderful light and loving feeling. A traditional, welcomed, and appreciated classic diesel strain and high!

CULTIVATOR: Bog Brook Botanicals, Lyndonville, VT

STRAIN: Blue Zushi

BREEDER: Dutch Passion

THC: 25.27%

TAC: 29.26%

GENETICS: Zkittles x Kush Mints

TERPS: limonene, B-caryophyllene

With over thirty years of combined experience, owners Nanette Bilodeau and Lance Person bring passion and expertise to the industry. They believe in the appeal and aroma, from taste to quality, showing their deep commitment to delivering the highest standard of flower to the market.

Blue Zushi is noted as an “indica dominant” strain, with dominant terpenes limonene and caryophyllene. Terpene testing was not provided. After opening the jar and inhaling the aromas, we detected a sour and earthy smell. The beautifully unique tree-shaped bud structure almost resembled curly rosebuds layered atop one another, with lovely hues of cool purple, blueish highlights, and a dark, deep, Kelly green.

Upon breaking open, the bud had gentle notes of a delightfully sweet aroma, quickly overpowered by the sour and earthy undertones. The trim was hugging this unique structure and bud shape tightly, with glandular trichomes and deep orange hairs competing for the spotlight with clustered glowing trichomes. Blue Zushi aromas continued to prove themselves on the grind, followed by fluffy flower for an easy, quick roll.

The initial dry pull off the joint had a surprisingly sour, yet sweet-floral, taste, with notes of tropical fruit and berries. Tasting that caryophyllene pepper on the first few lit pulls, the sweet once again jumped out right after. Our eyes immediately became heavier, the conversation and worries slowed down, reminding us to slow down, get comfortable, and enjoy the relaxation Blue Zushi provided us! Success! With physical pains decreasing, worries melting away, the pillows started to call us, leading to a great and sound night’s sleep. Make sure you have enough time to sleep it off and get ready for a great morning!

CULTIVATOR: High Altitude Cannabis

STRAIN: Ben and Gary’s

BREEDER: Exotic Genetics

GENETICS: Ben & Berries x Gary Poppins

THC: 19.56%

TAC: 24.33%

TERPS: limonene, B-caryophyllene, linalool, ocimene

Dakotah and Danny of High Altitude Cannabis are prime examples of people who are putting positive energy into the plant to extract that same amazing energy out of the plant. Ben and Gary’s pops with dark green leaves and purple leopard print buds, a sight you do not want to miss, so be sure to check it out before you burn it up! The jar exploded with a peppery and earthy aroma, with floral and fruity notes abounding, reminiscent of a fruit punch smell with a Kool-Aid like nostalgia. The bright red hairs stood out against vibrant purples, giving us some eye candy to gawk at before enjoying the sweet and fruity dry pull of the rolled joint. The bud structure was perfect, almost making it painful to bust open. As we did, we exposed a rainbow of colors even more exciting and a waft of pepper from the bright purple trichomes we stared at through our jeweler loupe scopes. We continued to gaze in awe at the amber and milky trichomes filled with terpenes and THC just waiting to be enjoyed. A smooth first pull of the joint created an immediate relaxation as it uplifted our souls, our mind’s eye was smiling and happy! This strain had us breathing deep, feeling mindful and ready to rock our day with focus and the calm, chill creativity we all crave. If you ask us, Ben and Gary’s is a great strain for daytime.
